Funding Drive 2017!

A (belated) Funding Drive special edition of the show! Please donate to CKUT to keep us going.

Featuring interview clips from the vault, from back in 2013 to the present: Cynthia Girard, Tricia Middleton, Dayna Danger, Anna Jane McIntyre, Maria Hupfield, Reuel Dechene, and Dominique Fontaine.

Karine Fréchette

Painter Karine Fréchette came by to talk about her work, which references Op-Art and provides much physical-optical stimulation.

CKUT Arts & Culture coordinator Tamara also stopped in to do an interview with artist/illustrator Raymond Biesinger.

Anna Jane McIntyre

For September we called up Anna Jane McIntyre, who was right in the middle of installing her show at the MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels). She told us about this project, La Forêt Noire. Her practice includes drawing, printmaking, installation, and performance, among other things.

We also phoned up the House Band (Adrian) who was AWOL, off installing his own exhibition, The Bejesus, at the FoFA Gallery.

Introducing... The Band

Out of Lines recruits its very own House Band (Adrian Norvid), providing live musical interludes, banter, and snide remarks.

Wood Land School

For the year 2017, SBC Gallery in the Belgo Building was renamed Wood Land School, a project which explored Indigenous futurity, thought, and theory through a series of exhibitions and events.

For this episode of Out of Lines we phoned up Tanya Lukin Linklater, who talked to us about Wood Land School. Tanya is an artist/poet/writer/choreographer, and one of the organizers of Wood Land School.

Sylvain Bouthillette

June's guest was painter Sylvain Bouthillette, who spoke about his work and his relationship to music.

A New Name...

As of June 2017, this show's name has changed from Art Scene and Heard to Out of Lines. We continue to air on CKUT on each month's first Thursday from 2pm to 3pm.
