Frédérique Ulman-Gagné

Notre invitée pour le mois de juin est Frédérique Ulman-Gagné!

We'll talk about how tragedy and the everyday are approached in her playful, motley paintings.

Johnson Jesuthason of DHC/ART

Johnson Jesuthason is a familiar face to visitors of the DHC/ART Foundation. Having started out as a security guard, his curiosity for contemporary art has led him to a role that involves conversing with gallery visitors, providing insight and information. I spoke with Johnson about his experience working at the DHC. We also talked about the current exhibition on view, the first retrospective in Canada devoted to artist Joan Jonas.

Airing Thursday May 5th, 2-3pm.

Dayna Danger! Live on CKUT!

We are very excited to be joined live in studio by artist Dayna Danger for the April edition of the show. Danger is perhaps best known for her large-scale photographs whose conspiratorial protagonists dominate each compelling and elaborately constructed scene.

Also, we will talk about a number of great exhibitions and events on now & opening soon: Montréal Monochrome, Howl Arts Festival, Papier 16...

On Decline and Collapse

For the first episode of 2016, we bring you an interview with Tricia Middleton! Her sculptures and installations are sprawling, enchanted, oozing, materially adventurous victims of gravity.

Her latest exhibition Justine opens on January 13th and runs until the 13th of February at Galerie Antoine Ertaskiran.

This episode airs Thursday January 7th, 2-3pm and can be downloaded thereafter from the CKUT archives.

Bambitchell on ASAH

Just a reminder that you can still go back and listen to the November 5th edition of Art Scene and Heard -- download or stream it from the CKUT archives.

We featured an interview with Bambitchell, the multidisciplinary collaborative art duo of Alexis Mitchell and Sharlene Bamboat, who recently brought their participatory installation Silent Citizen to articule. We also aired an excerpt of a discussion the artists participated in at the gallery with Nazik Dakkach.
